Dear Mr. Peterson:
I respectfully urge you to prosecute the three teenagers who strangled to death two chickens at El Monte Elementary School in Concord,
California on November 23, 2010. It is important to the Concord community and the school that these juveniles be punished for their crime under
CA Penal Code 597 which defines animal cruelty as maliciously and intentionally mutilating, torturing or killing an animal. The cruelty of
these teenagers caused extreme suffering not only to the chickens they maliciously killed, but to the other birds who witnessed the killings,
and to the students, teachers, principal, and custodian who found the chickens tortured to death on November 24, 2010.
Please prosecute these three juveniles for animal cruelty. Please respond to my request and concerns as soon as possible. Thank you for your
attention. I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
[Your name, mailing address, zip code, email address, phone number]
