The festival, held every year in June by the Eastern Shore's poultry
industry, celebrates an economy based on misery, abuse, and
slaughtering of birds. Please join our 10th year protesting this
event. We need you and the chickens need you.
Pocomoke City is located between routes 13 and 113 in Worcester
County Md, within minutes of Crisfield and Ocean City, Md and
Chincoteague, Va.
Directions to Cypress Park:
Coming from the Delaware Bridge, stay on highway 13 South for about 2
hours. You will pass Maryland towns called Salisbury, Fruitland, and
Princess Anne. The next town is Pocomoke. Follow signs to the parking
areas designated for the festival.
Traveling North on Route 13: Turn left at the stoplight at McDonald's
onto Linden Avenue. Go straight till you come to a bend in the road
and bear to your right. Go straight to Front Street. You'll see a
Cypress Park Sign on the left. Make a right into the park.
Traveling South on Route 13: Turn right at Dividing Creek Road
(before Pocomoke Bridge). Make a left at the arrow and go over the
old bridge. Make a left onto Front Street and drive straight to the
park.
Traveling on 50 West: Go to Route 113, then turn South to Route 13 to
Pocomoke.
Traveling on 50 East from the Washington Beltway: When you get to
Salisbury, Md, go through the town and go right onto Route 13 South
(the big green sign says 13 Norfolk) to Pocomoke (about 35 minutes
south of Salisbury).
DC Activists Need a Ride? Meet at the Grosvenor Metro Station in
Rockville, MD at 8:30 AM. From 495, take the MD Rte 355 exit. Follow
Rte. 355 North. At the first light, take a right onto Tuckerman Lane
to the Grosvenor Metro.
