The Chicken Rescue Centre in Sharnford, Leicestershire, UK, is set up
to offer homes for chickens whom people keep in their yards as
companion birds, as well as taking in intensively farmed chickens.
One of the biggest problems the Centre currently has is that, because
it is small at the moment, not a lot of people know the Centre
exists. People are unaware that any chickens they may have to find
homes for because of moving, noise, etc, can be homed at the Centre
and live out the rest of their lives in peace and safety.
The other problem with being so small is that it is difficult to get
donations and sponsorships, because people and organizations have
never heard of a "Chicken Rescue Centre" before, and they may wonder
if it's genuine. It is.
People who have problems with chickens or who need to re-home their
pet chickens, but do not want to wonder what will happen to them,
have a dependable resource in the Chicken Rescue Centre. The Centre's
Director, Martin Hudspeth, wants people to know that the Centre
exists and that the Center needs financial support.
